A particularly fine tombstone at Plot 731, Old Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham, commemorating Alfred Sidney ALDIS, son of Alfred and Christina, who died in 1941, and his wife Margaret Isabella (formerly BROWN) who died in 1962.
Many Aldis burials were in Old Maple Leaf Cemetery in Chatham. Martha Christina, Alfred’s young wife, is interred in Old Ward A, Plot 302, and her son Alfred Sidney, who died in 1941, in Plot 731. Salem Goldworth (known as Goldie S.), who also died young, is in Plot 317, as are his twin infant sons Harry E. and Harold E. Fortunately, he and wife Laura had three other children, including the aforementioned ‘Slim’, who survived.
